REPORT FROM MAGNUS WHITELOCK: 773.815.M41

Part 1: Twilight

Upon getting the briefing from Lord Inquisitor Nocturne, we took upon getting ourselves armed and ready for this odd occurrence. We got our training of use in void suits, to make sure we don’t die to our own stupidity in not appeasing the machine spirit.

As we set our sights to leave, we received a blessing from a Tech-Priest on board. In steeling myself for this, realizing my life was at stake, I forgot to thank him but I think he’ll live. Afterwards, we went onto the assault boat, as I heard it was called.

Due to no one having any piloting skills, which may have to be rectified, the Tech-Priest took to piloting the craft. He started our way there, and as we drew closer, I noticed that the hulk seemed to really haze out of shape. I do not know how to explain it, that it would haze wherever the eyes did not look. This took my attention off of what happened next.

A large amount of ordnance started to be fired at the ship, which caused problems for the Tech-Priest piloting, due to having to deal with it, which he did quite well, if I may say so, we got there in one piece. The Emperor Protects.

Nihilius Zee stated to the Lord Inquisitor about seeing another ship, which the Lord Inquisitor told him to respond via vox to the Magnus battleship. I believe it’s adequately named. This sounds a bit short sighted though; they could not detect anything due to the amount of interference that took place around this hulk.

We got there, docked, and readied ourselves. I took out my combat shotgun due to the close encounters expected as such on ships and waited for the inevitable, as the part of the hulk was blown away leading us to our fate…

Part 2: Insertion

Conversation started upon entering. Noticed a very cold atmosphere, as well as air. Frost is everywhere, not the Inquisitor mind you, but the actual physical entity, with cold. As we meandered on, our machine spirits started to malfunction, as did the Tech-Priest. Balas, being useful for once, helped I to get his bearings. Most notable, our chronos are out of sync. This is no good.

My obvious senses started to tingle when we went into a cargo hold, or something along the lines of. We noticed bright eyes in the darkness, which leapt into attack. They looked like mastiffs, and very unhealthy. I’d recommend a groomer in the future, maybe some food. Then I realized they weren’t dogs. They were something else. Fear was the only thing in my mind. I don’t remember much else in my haste. It was so cold, so dark. So much there, and wasn’t. I could not describe what I felt, saw, or heard for those moments.

I pray to the Emperor I never feel those again, nor let my teammates down. Afterwards, I felt a bump from behind, with that Tech-Priest behind me. I don’t feel exactly very safe; I got no idea what he did with my back. Trust in the servant though.

Then, something went much worse. We flew towards the centre in the room, smashing into each other, like a maelstrom. I heard a bolt pistol shot, and everything seemed done and over with. I quickly remembered my possibly open wound, and immediately checked with the Tech-Priest to see if anything got into the wound. As far as I know, nothing did.

We dusted ourselves off, and continued on. I noticed the collar on a warp beast, and continued onward, finding out we’re not alone…

Nihilius Zee and I took point, under the Inquisitor Lord’s order. We moved ahead, 50 meters. Zee was oddly loud, quite contrary to his usual stealth abilities. Anything of note, not of Imperial origin, I simply didn’t pay attention to. Best not to stray the eyes from the mission, as we may encounter those damned things again.

We stopped up ahead, noticing something quite strange, bringing my memories back to Galtus. There was a ghost girl, whom Balas seemed to get quite angry with, and Mira as well. While conversing, Mira decided to shoot at her, realizing that you cannot hurt these things with mundane means. Then she warned us the “others” are coming. Whatever that means…

Which leads into the next part. Dripping water. As we were getting closer in, it was definitely noticeable that the ice was melting, so it seemed to be quite normal, except the sound suddenly started, there was no previous sounding of it. As we continued through all the rubble, it was a constant annoyance to get through everything, constantly sounding that damned water. Checking my chrono, I realized that we’ve got to hurry up, because all of our chronos are wrong, and we might be boned.

Continuing to take point with Zee, who seems to still lack some noise discipline, we saw some kind of Eldar Pirate, those Dark Eldar the Lord Inquisitor were talking about. Thinking that an ambush and calling the others in would be the best plan of action, I loaded my shotgun to use Blazer rounds to attempt to incinerate the xeno.

Turns out that did not work. It quickly sprung around, dodged my zone of flames and threw a little device that instilled fear into the mind. It was quite a pain, considering the circumstances. It leads to Zee and myself fleeing. When we met up with the group, we attempted a chase, and leaving logic to the Tech-Priest, said we could not catch it.

Deciding to continue on, we went into a beautiful imperial ship of quite some age. I think the Tech-Priest wanted to bring it home with us. He asked if this was what we came for, and we simply shook our heads, crushing all his minimal feelings. The nice thing was though, all the lights were on, so lamp-packs were not needed for this part, thankfully.

We, again, continued on forth to eventually come to a large room with a pillar in the middle surrounded by a sheet of ice. It was not exactly a sheet of ice, but a mirror of some kind, showing an image probably projected by SORCERY AND HERESY. This lead to the Lord Inquisitor talking to someone whom no one knows, apparently some Cael. Maybe he has a brother named Quietus that does experiments with psykers?

Then we saw something of utter works of non-Imperial manufacture. There were a large amount of those warp-dog-things chasing down from a corridor, towards us. I suggested a tactical withdrawal, which the Lord Inquisitor thankfully granted us, and sacrificed himself for us. I wonder why…

I ran ‘till we met up with a black-looking ship out of a carved rock wall with gargoyles and some other etchings in the side of it. It was the only way to go, so I ran for it, getting in there nice, healthy and in one-piece. If those things are truly dogs, I can see why they turn them into Cyber-Mastiffs.

From there, we met a group of Inquisitorial Acolytes from an Inquisitor named Soldvan or something akin to those lines. We made a quick truce, since more bloodshed is not needed and we’re both human. The latter I’m thankful to the God Emperor for. Further ahead, we met the little girl again, with her hair still down over her face, talking crazy talk. From that point, she led us more in, to talk to the “others”. Our groups were group nervous at this point, because if those others were the dogs again, I’m simply going to go postal.

As we went deeper into this mysterious black ship, I could feel the history. And looking down the stairs into another hold, I could see it too; a huge group of ghostly apparitions. Seeing Balas faint on the stairs, I felt about following suit until Mira kicked him down. That certainly set me right in my bones.

It chilled me for them to simply circle us, and their “leader” came forth to ask us questions. Vincentius did a great job of lieing through his teeth, and said the right things. Apparently we’re the Ecclesiarchy and we’re sending them towards the Emperor’s light of salvation. Worked for me, because it worked for them. After the cheers and hurraying, a man came through the other ghosts to set foot in front of all else, apparently gaining his own pathway amidst the ghost people things.

He introduced himself as Ishtan Vogel, and unfortunately, he says he knows who we are, and why we’re hear.

We’ve just got into the thick of it.

Part 3: Out of the Pan and Into the Fire. Made of sharp pointy blades.

I’m certainly un-nerved by this fellow. How could he know who we are and why we are here? It reeks of some sort of witchcraft. We’re just in the position that we have to co-operate. Nonetheless, we started talking to this Vogel character. He apparently is one of Ajorin’s retinue or something, but can never be sure with Psykers. Especially on a Space Hulk, out of all places.

Anyways, after trivial chat with Vogel, we eventually learned Ajorin wanted to kill that certain daemon (Check the files on “webstalker”). She has a Data-crypt of map of warp, used to track the foul daemon down. We continued to talk, and we were led to the 13th hold of the Ship, making sure we were first.

Upon arriving at the scene, a pure image of a daemon is too much at this time with my fragile state of mind. I would not go near what we saw. Ajorin and her daemon, locked together to death due them part. The others got stuff the equipment from her; I decided to simply not deal with it, I did not want to disturb the beast if possible.

Afterwards, we argued about what to do with her. In the end, Mira decided to let her be, and everyone else (I included) decided to bring him “home” so that she could rest eternally, having her peace beside the Emperor away from the abomination. Mira is simply starting to irk me now, with how narrow-sighted she is. Am I the same way?

Then Vogel showed us where he “expected” the Dark Eldar to arrive from, and we made our preparations from it. We made some fortifications, Mira closed off a passage, and she set up some grenades. A small object appeared, which I quickly hid to make sure I don’t get hit by any blast. It turns out that Vincentius was talking to their leader, which I popped up to see. Devious Xeno trickery made their device turn into a bomb, which I got multiple shrapnel wounds in my face. Then, they arrived, in the place we completely did not expect.

The fight for me was short. The Dark Eldar came in through some rift in reality, and started shooting. I saw Balas fall from the ceiling, and get heavily wounded by those vile xeno weapons. Vincentius was not in better shape either. I was quick in dodging and evading their troublesome weapons. I yelled for Vincentius to drag Balas away, and I started to provide cover, unloading with my combat shotgun, ending two lives of the Raiders. Afterwards, I yelled for Soldevan’s Acolytes to enter, we were ambushed, which they prompted did.

I saw Nihilius charge into the fray, trying to eliminate their leader with the mystical power-sword he attained. The Leader fought back, but he broke his weapon in twain. His attacks back were righteous and nearly killed him.

I heard a loud scream from behind me, and foolish as this was, I looked. Lady D turned into mincemeat, with the Tech-Priest being cut up, and falling prone. I might be a curse to Tech-Priests, seeing them constantly die… Turning back, time slows. The first feeling I get is as if a person punched me, heavily in the stomach, almost as if Mira did as so. The energy pushed me back from the blow, looking down I see multiple ‘stars’ in my chest. This cannot be good, I thought. Looking back up, they weren’t finished with me. They continued to fire upon me, feeling the impacts, I had no more feelings, no more pain; I couldn’t stop them carrying me to my resting place.

The last feeling I had, was I felt like I lost something important back there, I remember that clearly as can be. I wondered if my mother would ever see me again…
