Thought for the Day: ++ In an hour of Darkness a blind man is the best guide ++

My Lord, I respectfully deign to bring to your attention a subject that I believe would be suitable for induction into your extended circle of acolytes. While continuing the investigation into the [{Subjectis Obscurus}], we crossed paths with this young man. He was conducting a personal investigation of his own and since our purposes were temporarily in concert, we allowed him to accompany us.

During the operation, I had opportunity to observe the man in action. He is lithe of tongue and quick of wit, quite capable martially, and he displayed a number of traits that, if properly tempered and trained, could serve the Emperor, blessed above all, and by extension, the Emperor’s Inquisition. Further, despite being raised on Malfi, he is surprisingly (and thankfully so, if I may add) untainted by the political infighting and intrigue so prevalent in that society.

Prior to concluding our operations, I gathered the following additional intelligence. Nihilius Zee was given to the Officio Assassinorum as an infant for unknown reason, and raised by that order. He has been an above average student, according to Master Magnus Zane, his mentor and an instructor at the Assassinorum Temple. It should be noted that he was notified by Master Zane in 801.M41 of the true circumstances of his birth and subsequently petitioned and earned his manumission to freelance as a result of that knowledge being brought to light. Accompanying the revelation of his birthright, he was also informed that he had a twin sister, and he successfully sought her out where she currently serves as a Daughter of the Emperor, beloved of all mankind, in the Order of the Holy Word. Despite the restrictions placed on her interactions with anyone outside of the order, as you are aware is “their way”, he has ingratiated himself with them enough to occasionally visit personally or through correspondence, with her. I am sure that such perseverance and determination is not lost on My Lord. Hence, my writing to you to notify you of this person of interest, and humbly submitting him for your consideration in your service and that of the Inquisition’s.

Reverent and Humble Regards,
Ever Your Servant,

Phineus Calpurnicus
