BACKGROUND

Succinctly: Have one. More is better.

Bare Minimum:
At least provide a couple paragraphs about your personality and where you came from. See page 35 of the core rulebook and provide me at least a little information on the last 3 subjects: What will you sacrifice? What do you desire? What do you hate?

You MUST do one of the following for your homeworld:

  1. Use an existing Calixis sector world that has at least a couple paragraphs of description about it in either the core rulebook, the Inquisitor's Handbook, or the calixis sector website. If you need help, I will be happy to help you select an established planet if you give me some parameters.
  2. Make up a planet or detail a generic planet from the Calixis Sector list, giving it at least as much detail as some of the sidebar planets in the Inquisitor's Handbook. At a minimum this should include geography, distinguishing features, technology level, socio-political climate, and its role in the Calixis Sector.

The Calixis sector is far too full of colorful planets for you to be from generic Feral World #3.

You can provide suggestions on how you may have met your Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor, but just to let everyone know he is a very senior Inquisitor Lord who acts more through his agents than directly these days, so it is equally likely you were actually recommended by one of his senior agents as by meeting him directly. That said, he still gets out some, so we can discuss.

Encouraged
A more detailed background on your character is highly appreciated and will be rewarded with bonus experience. In particular, things like your childhood, your parents and siblings, past lovers, and past significant events in your life are all good color.

A modified version of the 3 by 3 method for NPC's is presented here. Again, bonus experience will be awarded.

You can provide me with up to 6 NPC's from your character's past who I can use for my own purposes. It is not necessary to provide all 6, and you can earn as much bonus XP by providing 3 really detailed characters with strong connections to yours as you can providing 6 who are not that original.

Up to 2 enemies, rivals, or people you just didn't like (keep in mind you are not fighting chaos cults yet)
Up to 2 friends
Up to 2 acquaintances. (The difference between a friend and an acquaintance is that an acquaintance will not go much out of their way to help you, and you obviously don't care as much about them.)

Obviously the more detailed you get on how you knew these people and who they are, the better. NPC's presented with little detail to them may be combined with other NPCs. Please do not stat them. I will stat them. I will also consider any information you do not fill in to be free game for me to write.

And the warp gazed back...
