HOUSE RULES

Firing into Close Combat: I don't like the math in the rules as stated in the Core Rulebook. I use the following: There is no penalty to fire into close combat on full or semi auto. However, you automatically hit everyone in the combat, with the GM allocating shots equally. Firing into Close Combat on single shot is a -20 penalty. If you miss, and either die (tens or ones die) is an "8", you hit an ally.

Invocation: I use TS Luikart's optional rule that you may roll no dice on your next power by successfully invocating as a full round action.

Ciphers: Acolyte and Secret Tongue: Acolyte are redundant. There is one skill for using secret communication among all of your Inquisitor's agents, and that is Secret Tongue: Acolyte. It covers speaking, and writing if you are literate. You may take Secret Tongue: Acolyte whenever that skills or Ciphers is available in your career progression.

Noble Background: Financial perks have been rewritten as follows:

  • Your starting wealth will be the starting wealth for your class, plus 300 thrones
  • Your income will be the income for your class, plus 150 thrones /month
  • The income above is the income available directly for equipment, bribes, other small mission expenses, and anything else you want.
  • In general, it is also assumed you have a "slush fund" not usable for mission gear. For mission expenses that the Inquisition will pay back (GM will arbitrate), anything requiring cash on hand of up to 1000 thrones, or credit with major trade houses / banking guild draws of up to 10,000 thrones (where accessible), there is no need to bother with accounting. It is simply assumed you pay, it and are credited back later.
  • Your roleplay slush fund also covers ambiguous "luxury and service upgrades" if available, once you have paid the base price for something. You always have enough money to appear rich, should you choose to. Within reason, these upgrades to not pass through tangible throne accounting in the game.
    • For example: Your character checks into an inn. GM informs you it is 50 thrones for a room for a night. You want to upgrade to the most luxury suite in the inn. You simply state you are paying to do so. GM does not quote a price, it is assumed you can pay for it.
    • You go to a seedy bar in the lower Hives. Everyone orders a drink for 2 thrones each. You look in your cup and are disgusted by the toxin filled sludge. You ask the barkeep if he has anything imported. He digs up a bottle of amasec that at least comes in a sealed bottle. You do not need to account for the price.
    • The group pays 20 thrones to have a message delivered. You add an extra, undefined tip to the courier to expedite delivery.
    • This only applies to upgrades usable by YOUR CHARACTER. (Remember, nobles are usually haughty and selfish.) Certain, unavoidable overlap in accommodations or transportation is acceptable. If you want to pay for upgrades for the rest of the team to also drink fine Quaddis wine or travel first class instead of steerage, you must spend tangible thrones. GM has final say on what amount of sharing requires tangible thrones expenditure.
    • Certain ridiculous extravagances may be beyond this perk.
